Tuner & Metronome
This app from Soundcorset is available for both Android and iOS and is one of our most-used. A tuner and metronome in one this app has a very simple interface and offers thousands of free sheet music as a bonus and the option to upload your own. The app also allows you to record yourself playing.
The tuner has two modes – a pitch fork mode and a chromatic tuner that measures sound pitch and intensity. The app also offers customizable A4 frequency (440Hz by default).
Guitar and Violin Tuner
Guitar and Violin Tuner is a handy tool with a chromatic and strobe tuner on one screen. The tuner allows you to adjust frequency, tune guitar, bass, viola, banjo, violin, ukulele, cello, shamisen, or use a chromatic mode to tune any instrument (one of our team members uses it to tune their guitalele).
The app is available for Android.
Guitar Tuner Pro
Guitar Tuner Pro is a very popular tuning app for iOS and Android phones that will be perfect for any guitar power user. The app will also help you tune bass and ukulele instruments. It has an automatic and manual mode, frequency range of Ab1 (51.91 Hz) to D5 (587.32 Hz), and accuracy equal to +/- 0.5 hundredth.
The app also has a library of 2,640 chords.
This app from the well-known Finnish music education tool Yousician has over 50 million downloads on Google Play (it’s also available in AppStore) and is perfect for beginners. It’s easy to use and has an intuitive interface so that you can easily use it on your own.
The app offers professional accuracy, has an advanced audio recognition algorithm, and even a built-in metronome. It’s great for learning and practicing chords and even has a few chord learning games to make it easier to study.
The tuner offers several modes – auto, manual, chromatic, presets (26 tuning presets, including Standard (EADGBE), Open G, Drop D, Open D, and Drop C), and custom where you can create your own custom presets and save them to use every time you tune your instruments.
